Food Uncovered - The Book

The healthiest people in the world are those who eat a diet of fresh unprocessed food, unadulterated with chemicals or additives, from an agricultural system grounded in the principles of natural fertility and innate disease resistance.

This was the norm for the whole of human society until very recently, but a globalised and profit-driven food system has caused us to stray very far from that healthy norm.

Food Uncovered is a comprehensive and forensic investigation of our food system and its drastic implications for the health of people and planet. The book is infused with an impassioned call for a safer, healthier and more equitable system, driven by a people-powered grass roots food revolution.

This book draws on 35 years' experience as a food activist, campaigner, writer and entrepreneur and 25 years of self-sufficiency. It presents alternatives which we can all consider, to move towards a food system which is intrinsically healthy for all of us and for the planet which we all share.

Food Uncovered is provocative and challenging, but its passion and enthusiasm makes for a highly informative and frequently eye-opening introduction to a subject which should concern us all. If a book could change the way we view the place - and impact - of food in our modern globalised world, this might just be that book!

I am currently seeking an agent and publisher for the book.

Nothing stands still – we are either moving in the right direction, towards the ideal future in our mind’s eye … or, by continuing to work against nature, we are moving away from it. We can all play our part, driven by our hearts and souls to take real, practical action to create a healthy and permanently sustainable world for ourselves, our children and future generations to come.

For, as Mahatma Ghandi wrote: “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change … We need not wait to see what others do.”
